THE DESERT AWAKENS

I'm disappointed in the quality of this photo. It doesn't show the subtle variation of the greens in the foliage. For some reason (probably my amateurish skills with a camera) the photo over-emphasized the lighter details of the painting as well.) (15' X 22") $100.00

LOST ROAD SCENERY.

The reason I called it the lost road is because I was a bit turned-around. Okay, I was lost. The road runs along the Strawberry River. River is a misnomer since this river is little more than a brook. The area is starkly beautiful; I'd like to return someday and take more photos. NFS

NEBO GOLD II

The Mt Nebo Scenic Loop provides a spectacular fall excursion. You can exit I-15 at Nephi, Utah if your driving north. Your trip time will be about 90 minutes (unless you just can't stop taking photos) before you end up in Payson, Utah. (22" x 15")  No longer in my collection.

FIND THE DEER

Indulge me. I promise. This is the last find -the -animal post. See if you can see the deer. She has twin fawns with her, but they aren't visible in this photo.

FIND THE COW

Okay, I'll admit it. I haven't painted for a day or two. So, I'm posting this photo with a cow somewhere in it. Before you enlarge it see if you can spot the intrepid bovine.

ANGELA'S FRONT YARD FLOWERS

Once in a while I need to paint something close up. I don't even know the name of this flowering shrub, but its flower is a brilliant white. (15" X 22") $125.00

AFTERNOON AT THE OVERLOOK

Where eagles dare ( and 15 year old girls had better not). Our daughter was frightened by an eagle late one afternoon when we visited this spot. The eagle flew up over the precipice just as she reached the edge of the overlook. Our laughter at the incident didn't help the situation, and she (not the eagle) came running back ready to punch our lights.

MODENA SKYLINE II

No, it obviously isn't Modena, Italy but rather a tiny railroad-stop town near the Utah/Nevada border. I'd estimate that about 25 people live there (maybe). Anyway, I've often seen similar cloud formations converge over this expansive valley. (15" x 22") No longer in my collection.

THE HAPPY WINNERS

Now some really important stuff: Big smile from the winner (center). Woohoo!

MR MICAH AND HIS FAMOUS PAINTING

Keep up the good work!

MR MICAH IS AN ARTIST!

This is my grandson Micah. He lives in North Carolina. Recently, he entered an art contest sponsored by the PTA. He was in the pre-kindergarten through second grade division. From a total of 52 schools, he placed third in his division. (The fire breathing dragon is his masterpiece.) In addition to that, he was awarded best of show by a co-sponsor:Art Quest, and was given a free summer pass to Art Quest's summer activities. CONGRATULATIONS MICAH!!!!!!

ALPINE POOL

Several years ago our family would make the annual trek to Brianhead, Utah. This small lake was along a path we hiked. Whenever I look at the painting, I recall hearing the rock chucks chirping at us for intruding on their solitude. This painting is one of my all time favorites. (22" x 15") NFS

AFTERNOON GOLD

I mainly use Daniel Smith Watercolors, although I have other brands in my paint box. My two most used colors are (French) ultramarine blue and burnt sienna. I frequently use cobalt blue, quinacridone gold (a wonderful color,) yellow ochre, new gamboge, hansa yellow, sap and hookers greens, and alizarin crimson. I like earth colors because I paint a lot of rockscapes. hills, and mountains. I'm a sucker for a new color and will try it at least once. (15" x 22") $75.00

A GLORIOUS AFTERNOON IN ARIZONA

This scene is somewhere between the turnoff to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and Page (Arizona.) The painting is one of my favorites because I feel I got the light right. (15" x 22")
