THAT'S ONE LONG ROAD!

I went on a day trip this morning to an area that's about 30 miles from home. Someone recently told me about the great scenery I could photograph there. Aside from the flowers, I wasn't much impressed with his assessment of "scenery." The road is about a five- miles- per- hour- passage that seems to go forever; well it seems like it when you can drive only 5 to 10 miles per hour. Actually, I drove about seven miles before deciding the guy was either smoking something when he was there or to him it really was beautiful. Decide for yourself.

And what appears to be some Sweetvetch in the foreground.

BLUISH-PURPLE FLOWER

According to my reference this delicate little flower is a Dry Ground Lupine.

YELLOW FLOWER

I think this and the next are both Oregon Sunshine, although there was another yellow flower in the reference book that's quite similar.

MOUNTAIN PAINTBRUSH

I checked my Sagebrush Country reference book, and I believe this flower and the next are Mountain Paintbrush

CACTUS FLOWER II

Don't attempt to pick these lovelies. You can see there are still several flowers ready to blossom.
