- Thank you for visiting my blog. Please spend some time here. I hope you enjoy my paintings. I'm not a professional artist--although I've sold paintings--and I don't have aspirations for becoming one. The fact that I enjoy painting is all the motivation I need to keep dipping the brush and slapping on the paint. I believe there are thousands of other painters who hold a similar philosophy. This has a wonderful COLD feel to it. I love the use of blue. Really pretty!
Thank you, Marie. This is one of my favorite painting -- exactly for the reason you stated. It was indeed a COLD October evening atop Mt Nebo when I took the reference photo for this painting, much colder than down in the valley where I was eventually going. The late shadows, the solitude, and the cold made an impression on me.
