Ok, it's a little hard to tell on the computer....is this a painting or a photograph???? If it's a painting--WOW! Either way, painting or photograph, I really love this.
Hey again Tile Lady. Payson Canyon is a reference photo. I've tried a couple of times to paint it, but I wasn't satisfied with either painting. I'm going to attempt it again someday. Thanks much for your interest in my blog. If you see something you're interested in let me know. My paintings are reasonablly priced.(IMHO) Thanks again for your interest.
It's one of those surreal photographs that looks so like a painting, and then when you try to paint it, you have trouble! :-) You are talented in both photography and painting, that's for certain. I tend to paint (just an amateur--sold four) from photographs but I would love to paint on site and try to capture the true light. It's just harder to be out in the "wilds" long enough to do it. I could when I was younger. Now, I trust my instincts to recreate from my memory as well as the photo. I would LOVE to own one of your paintings, but alas we are "in-between" right now, trying to re-establish a lost footing, and until things are stable once again, I cannot purchase as much as a book, much less a work of art. But, when the time is right, I will.
Check out my friend, Linda Tibolla--an exquite watercolorist in TX. You will have to google her name, as I don't have a current listing of any sites she is on. Do you ever do glicee of your work?
Incidently, I tried for over a week to add your blog to my site, as well, and was finally successful! I am enjoying your wonderful work, and will share your blog with anyone I can! All the best!
The Tile Lady (PS, very soon I will be posting a few of my paintings on my personal blog, A Colorful World if you want to see what I do for personal enjoyment, mostly)
Thank you for visiting my blog. Please spend some time here. I hope you enjoy my paintings. I'm not a professional artist--although I've sold paintings--and I don't have aspirations for becoming one. The fact that I enjoy painting is all the motivation I need to keep dipping the brush and slapping on the paint. I believe there are thousands of other painters who hold a similar philosophy. As you can see I have several categories (collections) listed below that you can view. Once again, enjoy your visit. Bookmark and return again. I appreciate your kind remarks.

This photo is just exquisite. I think it's hard to top with a painting...but you can do it!
Thanks for the encouragement, Villager!
