AT 10,500 FEET
Took another day trip back to Great Basin National Park. This time I drove to the end of the road up Wheeler Peak. I wasn't disappointed. This photo fails to do the actual scene justice. It was stunningly beautiful. More so than I could imagine, (and it's in Nevada, folks.) It was almost like winter, but it's only October. Snow had fallen the first of the week, but the road was dry(still a little spooky to drive) and easily passable. When you reach the top, suddenly you see this scene. Wheeler is the second highest mountain in Nevada and reaches 13,000 feet elevation. Very impressive!

A NOVEL
Okay, I'm not a novelist, but I did write a novel, and I finally got it onto Amazon.com (with a little help from my son) in the Kindle Book category. The book is a fiction set in the future and is a tale about the Mexican Army's invasion of the American Southwest. Two characters caught up in the invasion travel from Phoenix to Tucson and encounter dangers along the way and upon their arrival in Tucson. I set the Kindle price at $3.99, so if you're interested you can search it out on Amazon. (Sorry, there's no money back guarantee. LOL)

MULE AND HORSES
I took a delightful drive along state route 150 east of Kamas, Utah to Mirror Lake yesterday afternoon. At the summit the elevation was 10,800 feet, and I was panting a bit after returning from a downhill spot where I had snapped a few pics. Very beautiful scenery, although dry conditions prevail. Some of the multiple small lakes there are low on water. Still an impressive drive.

COMING STORM
(22 X 15") $100.00. I'm sitting here looking at the original and comparing it to the photo and, well, I know I've complained about the transfer problem(from original to blog) before, but I've got to say that the photo is much duller, especially the yellows, than the painting itself. In other words, the yellow colors in the painting are cooler and much more brilliant. Oh well, maybe you can exercise your imagination a little. $100.00

FLEETING LIGHT
Thick clouds were scudding overhead creating almost instantaneous changes in light and shadow. I would spot a fantastic display of contrasting lights and darks only to have the image disappear before I could stop the truck and snap a picture. But it was loads of fun trying to capture these elusive scenes, and I did manage to catch a few of them. 15" x 22") $85.00
