ELEPHANT ROCK REDEAUX

(22" x 15")

STRAWBERRY QUAKIES

I've painted this scene several times and no two are alike. I was intrigued by the arrangement of the trees and the foreground grass. (22" x 15")

THE ROAD TO...

I have no idea. I followed it for a ways, but the trees kept closing and the road kept steeping. So I found a wide spot and turned around. While I was negotiating the turn, a dude in a very large truck came around the corner. Glad I was out of the way because he drove like he wasn't expecting anyone else to be there.

CURVE AHEAD

(15" x 22")

Joe Kittinger

Kittinger jumping from his balloon's gondola at an altitude of 102,000 feet. (20 miles) He free-fell for 4 1/2 minutes before his chute automatically opened for a total fall time of 13 minutes. During the jump his left-hand glove malfunctioned and his hand swelled to twice its normal size. The jump took place in 1960. One brave dude! (Don't ask, Angela. And no, I didn't take the picture.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81gn2oLeC_U&feature=related

COTTONWOOD SUMMIT II

(15" X 22")

COTTONWOOD SUMMIT I

As often as I've driven by these formations I hadn't really paid much attention to them until one winter day after a snow storm. Suddenly, there they were. It's amazing how a patina of snow can turn a pile of rocks into an elegantly-laced landscape .(15" x 22")

MODENA SKYLINE

I've painted two pictures of this scene. My daughter has the other one. She likes both paintings but prefers the other one. Perhaps I'll take a picture of it next time I visit her and add it to the blog.

SCHOOL'S OUT

An old building-- I presume a former school house-- in Grafton, Utah. Grafton is a ghost town, and it's one of the locations where the film Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid was filmed.

WINDING ROAD TO KOLOB

This road starts near Virgin, Utah and winds for 25 miles to the top of Kolob where there are some homes and several campgrounds. At least that was the case when I drove there nine years ago. The road is narrow, winds a lot, and in some places can make your knuckles white. I'd recommend it for the scenery. Can't say as much for the camping, but then I didn't have an air mattress and slept ( sort of) on the ground the one night I spent there.

L C ROCK FORMATION

The rocks in the formation are not quite as colorful as I've made them, but that's why there's artistic license.

OREGON COAST

Being a desert dweller, I'm not as adept as many at painting large bodies of water. I gave it a try. (15" x 22")

FLOWERS

At one time I was a signature member of the Nevada Watercolor Society. To be accepted into the organization I had to submit three paintings to be juried. Of the three, this is the only one still in my collection. It's at least 20 years old, and it has hung in several rooms in our home over the years.(15" x 22")   No longer in my collection.

IS THIS REALLY ONE OF MINE?

Yes, it is. Almost an abstract, one I painted at a Frank Webb workshop circa 1987.
