RAINBOW CANYON SUNSET

Just a little too much red in the hill, which I'll blame on my inexpert photography skills and the limitations of my equipment. However, these cliffs do glow in the late afternoon while the bottom of the canyon lies shrouded in deep shadows. (15" x 22")

WARY

These wild horses are standing in the Meadow Valley Wash, The wash normally handles a small stream of water year round, although the stream diminishes somewhat during the summer months. The Union Pacific Railroad tracks are visible in the upper background. In January 2005 large swaths of this line section from Caliente on down Rainbow Canyon were washed away by a 100--year flood.
It's difficult to see unless you enlarge the photo, but one little guy is having an early afternoon snack.

SAME HERD AS ABOVE

Two or three more horses are nearby.

WILD HORSES

Lots of wild horses in Eastern Nevada. These guys were grazing near the road when I came upon them early one morning. When I stopped they immediately zeroed in on my vehicle. They soon spooked and ran, but once they were about 100 yards away the went back to eating.

ON THE WAY HOME FROM MOAB

Moab, Utah is a colorful locale. I wouldn't mind living there. Both Arches and Canyonland National Parks are nearby, plus the Colorado River winds its way just outside the small but bustling city near the Colorado border. This particular scene, however, is about 100 miles west of Moab. The entire route along I-70 from Moab/Green River to I-15 is quite scenic. (15" x 22") $125.00

DOES

Baker Creek Campground photo.

Four mule deer does and a yearling were browsing just a few feet from the road paralleling the Baker Creek Campground. I stopped my truck and snapped these two who seemed oblivious to my presence. I'm sure that if I had exited my vehicle they would have been gone in a heartbeat. The other three were a little farther behind and were as equally unconcerned when I photographed them.

BEND IN THE ROAD

I'm glad not many people know about this canyon. I'm transformed to someplace else each time I drive it. (15" x 22")

RAINBOW CANYON EXPRESSWAY

Keep going, make the proper route connections,( that may be difficult since some of the road has been washed away) and you'll be in Vegas, Baby. (15" x 22")

ON THE ROAD TO NO WHERE, NEVADA

Actually, the road goes into the mountains (yes, there are many mountains in Nevada) I liked the early morning light coming over a nearby hill (15" x 22")

GOLDEN II

This painting is a crop of another Duck Creek piece titled Golden. I sometimes look for smaller compositions in a photograph, and occasionally I find one or more that work.
